The first new single of 2025 has arrived! We formally introduce to you: Old Blue
Inspired by the new Boss synthesizer pedal that we purchased while on tour in Alaska last summer, this song is the first among several on our new upcoming album!
We feel that this song is a true full collaboration between Skyler, Emily, and Marv, incorporating all three of us creating the song at once, together. Sometimes it happens differently; one of us has an idea that's brought to the table for the others to add to, or two of us create and the third adds later... but this time, the three of us excitedly began exploring the capabilities of this pedal late night in Ninilchik, Alaska in an RV on our first night at Salmonfest.
Skyler played his guitar into the pedal, while Emily adjusted the settings, and Marv created the beat on his MPC live alongside; then sampling the synths we liked onto the MPC while Em began adding lyrics, starting with something she'd had in the clip waiting for a while. In fact, the first four lines of the song she had come up with on the fly as a joke during a rehearsal three years prior; before our beloved tour minivan "Moonbeam" had come to us.
This single will be available on all streaming platforms on Valentine's Day, 02.14.25 !
We have played this live a few times at Woodshed sessions, and can't wait for you to enjoy the full sound, studio style.

The lyrics paint a picture of an ideal love. We can't say that we truly have this kind of love, but dangit that would be great. In honor of the concept of "true love" we chose to release the song on Valentine's day. Cuz we love YOU! Enjoy!
